Counties 2023

The first "normal" counties we've had since COVID and the first competition of 2023 had the swimmers showing what they're really made of. 3 (long) weekends at Hengrove brought 266 entries, 110 PBs, 74 finals (including 12 championship finals!) and 39 top-10 finishes in events 200m+!

We also had 32 new club age group records, 6 new club records and 10 new regional times. Swimmers in all age groups were represented in finals - the youngest swimmers including Martha R and Theo G in the 10/11 age group right up to 47 year-old Ivan R who placed an impressive 7th in the 100 breast final!

Not all of the achievements were made in the pool though - 15 year-old Martha W was signed off as a qualified J1 official! As the youngest official in the county, this is a real testament to her maturity and we hope to see others follow in her footsteps in the future.

As always, a massive thank you needs to go out to all of the parents, team managers, coaches and volunteers without whom events like these would not be possible. Bring on regionals!!
